WHAT IS SIN UNTO DEATH (UNFORGIVEABLE SIN)

SIN UNTO DEATH.

1john 5: 16-20

There is a sin unto death, no prayer or fasting will heal or raise such sinner. That is the sin of unbelief (condemnantion John3:18). We shall look at it and how a believer suddenly turn into an unbeliever and sin a sin unto death.

Not all sin leads to death. I taught that a believer can sin but cannot die of sin becos of the four provisions. Check last message.

Ordinarily a believer should not sin unto death but it is possible. Vs 18The believer can do wrong but does not bring him to death becos

1. He is not under the law (Col 2:14-15)

2. Christ has taken the death due to his wrong. (Heb2:14-15)

So the believer cannot sin unto death.

He has crossed over from life to death. (John5: )


How does the believer sin unto death?

To loose faith in the blood of Jesus as Gods answer for sin, despise the spirit of grace(gal2:21)

(Heb10:1-18, 26-31, 35-39)

Heb2:1-4)

Its a fall from grace (Gal5:1-4).

They were once enlightened but then they reject the truth. Its difficult convincing them of grace becos they feel they know it and now know better.(Heb6:4-6)


HOW TO KEEP YOUR SALVATION.

We have not preached that salvation cannot be lost.

A believer who has been eternally saved can decide to forfeit his salvation. Salvation can be lost if you don't know how to keep it.

Paul warned believers that they can lose their salvation if they don't keep their stand on the grace by which they were saved.

Gal1:6

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Gal 3:1-5

They shifted their focus from what Christ have done as their perfection into trusting themselves..... by obedience to the law.

Gal 2: 18

They were rebuilding the old covenant and system......and they fall back into sin before God.

Gal 2:21

That is a frustration of the grace by which we are saved.

Then the warning in Gal 5:1-

Vs 2: Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.

Vs 4: Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.


ROM 11:17-21

Paul again warn the gentiles that they should not boast. If Israel can be cut of by unbelief, how much more can the gentiles be cut off if they don't keep their stand on grace by faith.

Vs 20: Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.


Phil 2:12-13

This is where the message of work out your salvation with FEAR and trebling comes from.

It is God that is working, all you need do is belief else you cut yourself off from what God is doing.

Phil3:

And in chapter 3 he warned the Philippines to keep themselves away from dogs....those guys preaching that salvation is not possible by faith in Christ alone.


Colosian church were also warned by Paul about falling away.

Col 1:21

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled

In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
