Some teachings are not meant to make the believer Go and sin but to ensure he does not kill himself when he sin. God has made every provision to ensure that sin is harmless.
(1John 2:1)
I write that you do not sin, but when u sin......see the solution right there with you. You have an advocate in Heaven.
So we don't stop teaching believers how much Sin cannot harm him just becos we are afraid he should not make sin a practice.
1. By the spirit of God in the believer, he cannot make a practice of sin. (1John3:9)
2. God made a provision for his sons, knowing they are but flesh and will go wrong against their conscience, made a provision so that sin will be harmless to him.
...to ensure sin is harmless, he took away the power of sin which is the sting of death (1cor15:56) (Rom6:14)
Sin shall not have dominion over you becos you are not under the law but under grace. Hallelujah.
Meaning: A believer may be wrong but cannot be harmed by sin.
The devil can accuse the believer of sin but has no legal ground to touch the believer on account of sin which Christ has taken on his behalf and there is no more law to prove him wrong. (Col2:14-15). Heb 2:14-15)
The believer sin but does not go to hell because Christ has gone to hell for him.
In Paul's teaching, Paul maintained his ground that the believer does not go to hell even when he is guilty of sin in action. He can be excommunicated out of even the church and his body delivered to the devil for destruction but his spirit is still righteous and shall be saved by faith not of works. I am talking of the believer who took his father's wife. (1cor5:1-5 )
In another case Paul wrote that even the believer who didn't build well on the sure foundation of salvation, he will yet be saved though he has no reward for works. (1cor3:10-15 ). Salvation is not of works lest any man should boast (Eph 2:8-9) But every man's work will be tested with fire. If He builds well, he recieves a reward, if not he suffers loss but he himself will be saved as a gift by grace.
This is the race Paul spoke about. This is why he discipline his body not so he would be disqualified from heaven. No qualification takes us to heaven aside faith. It was God that qualified us (col1:14). Paul put his body under so he was not disqualified for the prize or reward of preaching the gospel. (1cor9:18-27 )
All things are lawful but I discipline myself to things that help me in edifying my audience.... Things I can do to have their ears.
The believer might sin against men but cannot sin against God so long he is standi. There are actions that are sin to men and Jesus reminded us that men can kill the body if you sin against them but cannot send you to heaven or hell. You faith is your fate. (Mat10:28 ) So believers still need to respect the laws of men as much as they are not sentenced to death by the laws of men they break with their freedom in Christ. Yet God God has made another provision giving us the spirit of resurrection to quicken our body against all effect of sin on the body. Sin has no effect upon the spirit of a believer. Hallelujah.
Romans 8:10
And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Even in this, God made a supernatural solution that the believer can still hopefully stand on....the Holy spirit that raised Jesus from the dead quickening our mortal bodies that sin and men are dealing with. (Rom8:11)
Paul was arrested and stoned, but he revived.
Jesus said, the believer eats harmful things but shall not hurt them. this is what it means. Sin has no power over the believer.
Note: Not keeping the law of physical rest is still harmful to the body. The body needs rest yet we don't follow the rule. It ought to break down. We don't keep to proper hygiene and diet. We eat harmful stuff daily ignorantly and the body is dying and sick........but if the spirit of Him that raised Jesus from the dead.......take advantage!
A believer fornicating around is sinning against who? His body! (1cor 6:18)
There are lots of STDs. God made provision for the Spirit of resurrection not so we continue in sin but because in His mercies, he does not want death to take advantage of His people. And note that we all miss it at one point or the other and so deserving of death save for these provisions. Glory to God.
